Verlag Barbara Budrich Press Joins the Open Book Collective

Verlag Barbara Budrich has officially joined the Open Book Collective. Since its founding in 2004, Verlag Barbara Budrich has been committed to fostering critical scholarship, supporting early-career researchers, and facilitating international collaboration. With a strong emphasis on ensuring broad public engagement with academic work, Verlag Barbara Budrich shares the Open Book Collective’s mission of promoting open and accessible scholarship.

The Open Book Collective (OBC) is a registered charity that brings together open access book publishers, open publishing service providers, and knowledge institutions, including libraries, working in collaboration to secure a more sustainable and equitable future for open access books. They provide support to publishers working collectively on the production and dissemination of open access books.

Verlag Barbara Budrich’s open access publishing aligns strongly with the values of the OBC, reinforcing the idea that knowledge should be freely available and widely shared. By joining the OBC, we strengthen our commitment to an open access future, fostering partnerships that prioritize bibliodiversity, fair funding models, and collective support over competition.
