Dear Ravindra, who is behind Sara Books and what is Sara Books?
Sara Books India was founded in 2004 by Ravindra Saxena, who previously worked with Reed International and Elsevier Science. He has over 40 years of experience in publishing.
What services does Sara Books offer publishers who want to distribute their books on the Indian subcontinent?
Sara Books was established to represent foreign publishers in India, focusing on the sales and marketing of their publications. Over time, we also began offering Indian reprints and distribution services.
How has the company developed in recent years?
Sara Books started with just one British publisher, Woodhead Publishing, UK. Over the years, we have expanded and now represent a wide range of British, American, and European publishers.
What are the current challenges for the distribution of academic publications in your region, and how do you address them?
Currently, foreign books have become increasingly expensive due to the weak Indian currency. To address this challenge, we have started reprinting foreign titles in India at significantly reduced prices, making them more affordable for Indian readers.
