Here’s an overview of the jobs we currently offer.

Internship

If you would like to work with us as an intern, just get in touch (best to send some documents, cf. below).

Application

We expect from you

  • a formal letter (or e-mail) to explain the motivation for your application,
  • your CV (if you happen to be rather young, this is necessarily rather short),
  • willingness to be briefly interviewed on the phone,
  • willingness to be interviewed in person (possibly online, if you do not live around the corner).

Send your application directly to our publisher Barbara Budrich.

Freelance jobs

We are constantly looking for reliable long-term support in the fields of

  • barrier-free typesetting with InDesign
  • native English language proofreading
  • scientific editing with profound knowledge in our relevant subject areas

Editorial staff

Every project we plan on publishing will at least be looked at by an editor (mostly, first by peers for review purposes). The least our authors may expect is a standardized report which may be written up by expert freelance editors. If you would like to play a part in this, you need

  • a university degree,
  • language skills,
  • keen perception,
  • the ability to switch easily from “close ups” to “in general” when evaluating a text,
  • good communication skills,
  • reliable time management.

Formatting

We are constantly looking for freelancers who would like to do formatting for us. Once we are working together, you will receive projects from us on a regular basis. While most of layouts are accomplished in InDesign, at times, good old Microsoft Word will actually be sufficient here and there. If you would like to play a part in this, you need

  • the necessary technology,
  • solid knowledge in either MS Word and/or InDesign,
  • an eye for detail,
  • good communication skills,
  • reliable time management.
