The European Conference on Politics and Gender<\/a> (ECPG) will take place from 15\u201317 June 2026 at Newcastle University. Organised by the Standing Group on Gender and Politics of the European Consortium for Political Research, the biennial conference brings together scholars from around the world to discuss current research on gender, sexuality, intersectionality, and politics.<\/p>\n

This book brings together activist and scholarly perspectives from different African countries on the multifaceted lived realities of LGBTIQ+ persons, exploring their experiences of violence and their resistance strategies. It examines the impact of colonial legacies, the solidarity across LGBTIQ+ communities, and the ways in which scholars and activists can connect and foster practices of solidarity.<\/p>\n

Women continue to be underrepresented in tech and design, resulting in their needs and perspectives being frequently overlooked. Addressing this gender gap requires substantial efforts across both academia and industry. While discussions around gender theories and the challenges of tackling tech and design from stereotypical viewpoints have increased, the focus often remains on the negative aspects. What is missing is a comprehensive look at real progress and the mechanisms driving it. This book closes that gap by showcasing successful initiatives and projects across various sectors \u2013 ranging from academia to industry, and from product design to engineering.<\/p>\n
