For the first time, the Day of European Authors will be held on 27 March 2023 on the initiative of the European Commission.<\/p>\n

The day aims to encourage young people to discover the diversity of European literature and European authors, and to show how literature can be a tool for empowerment. Around 100 authors will take part, offering readings in schools and taking part in a European reading tour.<\/p>\n

The Federation of European Publishers (FEP) has called on publishers to raise awareness of the day of action and to share recommendations for books by European authors on social media. The staff of Verlag Barbara Budrich share their personal recommendations from the publishing programme.<\/p>\n
